Traditional Chinese Medicine
I am often asked how I came to work in the field of Traditional Chinese Medicine. As with all roads, it was a winding one! I had always dreamt of making a positive impact in this world and it came naturally for me to seek out the healing arts. I began my studies by completing Pre Medicine and BA Honours Psychology at the University of Regina. Then began my informal education and travel years of exploring the world and my self. Living in South Korea, traditional acupuncture first caught my eye. As I delved further, so many things intrigued me about this ancient medicine and art. I chose to study at the Canadian College of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine in Victoria, B.C. and in 2001, I graduated with a degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine, moved back to my home province and set up shop! I am a full member of the Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture Association of Canada and the Provincial Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture Society.
While I do work within the full spectrum of TCM, over the years, I have specialized and sought additional training in areas of women's health, fertility, emotional wellness, pediatrics and obstetrics. I am a proud farm girl with a strong connection to nature. My great love of flowers led me to take courses in flower essence therapy which imparts a powerful, yet gentle, support to our emotional wellness. I have always held a deep interest in spirituality and this has led me down many paths including the teaching of meditation and mindfulness. I truly believe that healing is held within and encompasses mind, body and spirit.
It is an honour for me to work within this system and to be able to share with others. I am grateful every day to witness how this part of my life continues to blossom and evolve.
Thank-you for visiting.
